Parenting, Protection, and the Power of Showing Up – My Guest Panel on Divine Konversations

I recently had the honor of joining the Divine Konversations podcast as a guest panelist for a powerful conversation on parenting, protection, and the power of showing up.

In this episode, we explored:

  • What it means to protect and nurture our children in today’s world

  • How cultural identity shapes our parenting perspectives

  • Why being present—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—is one of the greatest gifts we can give our kids

As a Black educator in Northern Minnesota, I shared my experiences navigating both the joys and the challenges of raising and educating children in communities where cultural representation is limited. We discussed how showing up for our children also means advocating for their right to see themselves reflected in the curriculum, media, and community around them.

It was such a joy to sit alongside other passionate voices committed to lifting up the next generation.

I hope this conversation inspires you to think about the ways you “show up” in your own community and family. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is be present, speak up, and lead with love
