Jebeh Edmunds’ Journey: From Educator to Cultural Competency Trailblazer

When I first stepped into a classroom 18 years ago, I had no idea it would lead me here — helping organizations, educators, and leaders across the country transform the way they think about diversity and inclusion.

The Classroom Spark
I started as a paraprofessional, eventually teaching in Title I schools. That’s where I saw firsthand the difference culturally responsive education makes. Students engaged more, participated more, and grew more confident when the curriculum reflected their identities.

Beyond the Classroom
It became clear that cultural competency wasn’t just an education issue — it was a people issue. I began creating lesson plans rooted in diverse perspectives and started facilitating conversations that helped workplaces go beyond tokenism.

Today’s Mission
I’ve had the privilege of presenting to over 80 organizations, hosting The Cultural Curriculum Chat podcast, and creating resources used by educators nationwide. My work now focuses on helping leaders embed inclusion into everyday culture.

An Invitation to Join the Work
Cultural competency is a journey, not a checkbox. If your school or organization is ready to take the next step, let’s talk. Visit jebehedmunds.com to learn more.
